1996 Geo Prizm
Geo Prizm has been known as the economy car, a stripped-down box that doesn't
have the needed strength to push its self through. With only a side view mirror,
mirror, floor mats and AM radio offered as options. But those nomadic long years
were long been gone. The Prizm has already achieved some of the performance and
handling attributes that only the expensive vehicles once have. Aside from the
remarkable price, the Prizm offers daytime running lights, dual airbags which
has met the contemporary standards, and antilock brakes, CD players and power
steering as options. Other advance features include the all independent suspension
that gives an interestingly smooth ride. Although the Prizm doesn't display good
performance on the corners it surely is capable of stopping without much effort
or with any disobedience.
Geo Prizm offers two kinds of powertrains, the basic 1.6-liter 4-cylinder with
3-speed automatic transmission and the 1.8-liter, a quieter, faster but noisier
engine. The manual transmission comes as standard. And the heating system is apparently
of world class, even on harsh cold winter. Front seats quite comfortable. The
60/40 split rear bench seat is kind of a delight. The interior fit and finish
are remarkable though the choice of materials is not that perfect, but it's solid.
